Visual approach procedures
The new NfL 2022-1-2517, Regulations for Aerodrome Traffic at Leutkirch-Unterzeil Airfield (EDNL), applies, effective from 02 May 2022.
Please observe Memmingen Class D airspace and the entry/exit routes per AIP VFR and NfL 2022-1-2517. Overflights are only permitted when no parachute operations are in progress.

Border Control / Customs
Contrary to ASSUMPTIONS to the contrary, EDNL, as a "special airfield" (besonderer Landeplatz), remains subject to mandatory customs reporting. An instruction from the federal authority to the main customs offices to lift this status has not yet been issued, even though notification-free customs traffic at "non-special airfields" is already permitted. Please note that we must insist on prior notification and that we forward every notification to the responsible customs office. Subsequent notifications require your personal details.
Border-crossing flights to other EU countries likewise remain possible with prior notification and Federal Police approval, at least 3 hours before departure or landing!
